Services: Web Site Design Process

After 10 years of experience developing and marketing web sites for clients in Providence, Boston and other areas of New England, Double Helix has constantly honed our method of web site production to a science. Your company can count on Double Helix to finish your project on time and exceed your expectations of quality, design and functionality.

DISCOVERY

During the discovery phase of the process, a Double Helix Project Manager will meet with staff members from your company to determine the goals of your web site. Throughout this phase of your project we will listen to your company’s needs, research your competition and put together a marketing plan before web site design begins.

DRAFT

During the draft stage, our designers develop the color palette, graphics and general layout for the website. After the draft of the web site is created, it will be presented to the client for review. Based on the client’s feedback, adjustments to the web site draft are made. Adjustments require a final approval before the draft phase is complete.

PRODUCTION

After approval of the draft, the web site pages are “populated” with their appropriate content. At this point all graphics, text, databases and dynamic content are added to the web site. With your input, Double Helix will "fine tune" the web site, addressing any minor issues until the site is ready to launch for public viewing.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Before your web site is launched, one of Double Helix’s marketing experts will perform SEO operations on each page of the site, ensuring its best chance for high visibility in the search engines. After the web site is launched, the various pages will be manually submitted to the top search engines to be cataloged.

SITE LAUNCH

After the finished web site meets the client’s approval, we will post it live to the server. This means that the web site is now responding to its domain name, e.g. www.yourcompany.com and is open for business. If the client already has a web hosting account, in most cases we can work with their hosting company. In some cases it may be necessary for Double Helix to upgrade the client’s hosting service. In this case, we can recommend a hosting company that fits your needs.
